The Switzerland Postal Service will issue a new strip of 3 with a postage value of 100chf named "Sunrise at the Martinsloch" on the 8th of March 2012. This new strip of three depicts a phenomenon that is truly remarkable. A mountain in the Alps has developed a hole that is 21 meters high and 18 meters wide in the rock of the Grosser Tschingelhorn. It is named the Martinsloch and is located above the town of Elm. Twice a year on the 13/14 March at 8:53 a.m. and on 30 September/1 October at 9:32 a.m. the sun briefly shines straight through the hole illuminating the church tower in Elm as shown on the stamps. The site is now designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

Sunrise at the Martinsloch stamps can be purchase as a Set of 3, Sheet of 15, Set of blocks of 4, Collection sheet, Folder or FDC. The size of the strip of 3 stamps is 104mm x 37mm with a perforation size of 13.25 x 13.25 using the 2cm reference. The size of a sheet is 135mm x 215mm (5 rows of 3 stamps). Individual stamp size is 31mm x 37mm (left), 43mm x 37mm (Center) and 30mm x 37mm (Right). They will be printed by Cartor Security Printing, France using the 4 color Offset printing process with 110gms Mat gummed paper.
